check engine light is staying on with 22.
Does this have something to do with the fact I took out the stocker temp guage?

Car sounds a LOT better and is spooling a hell of a lot better. Turns out I was missing a bolt on the bottom left as well! So running with pretty much one bolt holding the turbo on.
couldn't get the top right screwed on all the way, just fingered as tight as possible, didn't have the appropriate tools.

And guys running aftermarket temp guages, what temp are you staying at? 190ish right?

ps,
thank you yarden (jaguar5), it was a good time workin on her today.

No...the EFI water temp sensor is a separate sensor from the guage sensor.

care to explain a bit?
I'm not as car/mechanical litterate as I may seem :icon_surp

There's 2 temp sensors on the thermostat-water outlet housing. One goes to the gauge in the cluster, the other goes to the ECU methinks.

The right tools really help out. Key word, GOOD set of tools, those shitty walmart wrenches break a lot easier than you would think! I have knuckle scars to prove it!

guys-
my ecu temp sensor is hooked up, but my wire for radiator fans are not....

If you have the aux fans on the car, you should hook the fan sensor up.

The code 22 is caused by the EFI temp sensor or the harness...the signal is not geting to the ECU. Test the sensor per the TRSM. If it's the harness, you will need a multi-meter to track down the break in the harness.

Yeah, I figured it out and narrowed it down to this.
When we were swapping my turbo last week someone bumped the efi temp sensor wire and pulled it out and one of the guys had to jimmy rig it and shit, and I have a feel one of the two wires that go into the sensor is loose or out.
Is this going to screw anything up if I am driving it without that hooked up?

The ECU changes fuel and timing based on the EFI temp sensor. Get a plug from your year harness and splice it in correctly. PM Tubbie...he has several parts cars.
