Fuel Setup:
255lph Walbro
12v mod
aeromotive FPR
j-tube bypass

Okay got rid of my crappy old FPR and was trying to dial in the aeromotive.

w/ the car off, key at on position. I jumpered the Diag box between B+ and FP (just off the top of my head) to turn the Fuel pump on and force fuel pressure.

The LOWEST I could turn the Aeromotive FPR down to was around 46-48.. I think thats a little High. I was aming for high 30's.

Any advice on this would be appreciated thanks.

It sounds like the j tube is not bypassed or a restriction in the return line. I read that the walbro would build to much pressure if the j tube was not bypassed because it would not flow back to the tank fast enough. That sounds like that might be the case because it will not go any lower. I seen where you said that the j tube was bypassed. I am getting the same set up so if you figure it out let me know in case I run into the same problem.

do you need to change return line size? make sure you have no debri or anything that may be cloggin or blocking your lines. Have not done the mod or upgrade myself, but can i blockage after the fpr towards the tank cause a problem?

i don't know about changing return line size. i just cut the old hard line flared it and put a rubber fuel line on that and ran it up to the Aeromotive AFPR where I had a barbed fitting installed. very close in setup to driftmotions.

bump for any other input. I've checked the lines, there's no kinks. I pinched the line while i had the Fuel pump kicking, and the gauge didn't budge at all.

Defective AFPR or gauge I'd suspect.

While I suspected at first. I find it hard to believe my brand new aeromotive AFPR is bad. ::Shrug:: the gauge is a liquid filled gauge that I bought from aaron less then a year ago, same type he sells w/ his AFPR, it drops to zero, and pops up to 51. I really have no way of proving or disproving either of those.

Food for though: I wonder if I take my air compressor w/ regulator, set it to 30psi. block the AFPR return and pump air into it till it reachers 30 psi and see what the gauge reads. think that would indeed work? fluids.. fluid, wether liquid or air yah?

can you adjust it up at all? i believe the reg has spring and diaphragm. Maybe like mentioned bad regulator and it is just reading the max pump pressure?

Can you disconnect the return line at the regulator and hook you a hose to the regulator and run it into a bucket just to see if it is the regulator. That would eliminate the return system.

this.

also, did you use teflon tape on the fittings?

what specific regulator do you have?

I used teflon on the threads on the gauge and the vacuum fitting. None on the AN fittings.

I have the Aeromotive 13109 -6 (-6 AN size vs the -10)

going out to try the bucket trick will have results shortly.

FIXED: I went out there to do the "bucket Test," and i had the hose aimed in the bucket and activated the FP there was pressure like i normally saw, then something shot out. There was an obstruction down stream of the AFPR where the hose from the barbed fitting on the FPR joined up w/ the stock hosing, i used a metal union there was something clogged in that union. after removing, it ran fine no problems.

Good to hear you got it fixed. My aeromotive fpr supposed to be here tomorrow. I ordered the hole kit from driftmotion. I hope everything goes smooth for me. :icon_bigg
