Hey, Everyone I'm taking my car (for the first time) to a nearby track for Power Cruise USA. I have never competed or participated in an event before. I have an '89 turbo with a built 7mgte, still running the ct on stock boost just waiting for winter to put my 35R on it. Just wondering what final checks I should do to try and prevent any issues. My motor has about 13,000 miles on the rebuild, 114,000 on the body. Its on BC BR coils with 16X8 wheels, new bov is on its way(mine quit working), and I am getting an alignment on Friday. Any input you guys have about what to expect or watch out for would be appreciated. I am planning on competing in a simple drag they have and the power cruise, you get to rip around the road coarse for 2-3 hours throughout the day.

Ah man that sucks I hate when things cannot be done in time for events. I went last year too, I'm looking forward to actually having my car there finally. I just have to put my windshield in and get an alignment. I'll be camping all weekend feel free to swing by if you see a white mk3 on crager soft 8's

Are your cooling and brake systems up to withstand some serious abuse? Those would be #1 and #2 on my list, followed by tire condition and engine condition.

Getting new tires with the alignment and my engine is pretty solid haven't had any issues with it since the rebuild but I will most definitely check my brakes and cooling systems. My plans for the night were actually to go through my icp/radiator and check all the fittings.

Thanks for the input it is much appreciated.

Brakes and cooling are actually the only things that are keeping me from playing on the track down in SLC... Anyway, good luck, get some video if you can, we always like that. :)
