I took my 88 Supra to the dyno for the first time yesterday. I have just basic mods and was looking for sort of a base line. DDP, 3inch exhaust, intake, MBC set to 11 psi. (spikes to 12...settles to 10-11). I thought it did quite well considering my level of modification and what I have seen from others. Let me know what you think...

Thanks guys,

The intercooler is stock. The turbo is not upgraded. I have the Speed Source lower hard pipe and the HKS BOV but other than that its stock piping. Im running HKS 1.2 MHG with ARP's torqued to 90 ft/lbs.

I was really impressed with my torque numbers but I wanted to know how comparable my numbers are to people with similar mods.

Most people would be god damn greatful to break 275 ft/lbs

Great looking car and some very respectable numbers. Next time see if you can break the straps that hold your car back.........................:biglaugh:

What would make the torque numbers so high?

It was really funny when I got the results...I was there with a local Prelude club. The average torque was about 200 lbs less than mine. The next highest was a Hemi Ram that put down 320 tq and 260 hp.

Right now I have nothing to tune with. Soon I would like to pull out the injectors and have them cleaned and flow tested. Then just a FPR and a SAFC II...possibly a Walbro. Then I would be able to turn up the boost a little further with the peace of mind I need.

Awesome numbers :bigthumb:

So what did you tune with?
That’s not just a ddp, mbc, and stock ecu?
Mod list.
Edit: You beat me to it. Nothing to tune with? Stock ecu? 5-speed, auto? What is your full mod list?

I come from a land down under
Just watched the vids and couldn't understand why the pulls were so long and what the breaking down at the end of the second pull was!

Had a look at the charts and saw just how hard he revved it!! :aigo:

Nice numbers!

looks like he took it to the rev limiter. makes sense, ~6700 rpm since its an 88. i dont think thats too crazy. it just seems like it revs for days since its started so low and making that low of numbers takes a while. no offense to you sawbladez, like i said nice numbers. just saying the lower the power output the longer it takes. i remem when i dyno'd mine near stock. it seemed to take forever!

Full mods list: DDP, Magnaflow high flow cat, 3 inch back to Magnaflow muffler. HKS SMF intake, stock AFM. HKS BOV with install kit. Speed Source lower hard pipe, stock intercooler. Crappy MBC set at about 11 lbs. R154 with stock clutch. Stock 3.90 gears in the diff. The car has 218 000 km on it without a full rebuild (ie. rings, bearings)

Yeah it seemed like it took forever for the runs at the time but later that night when I was watching the Honda's rev to like 8,000...it made more sense.

The guy you can see walking around near the front of the car is from the magazine Performance Auto & Sound. He was there for the Prelude meet but was taking pics of my car with his camera phone:icon_bigg .
