Hey guys. I just recieved my turbo back from PT. I did the 57 trim upgrade. Very soon ill be puttin the turbo on. Is there anythin I should know/do when the turbo is gettin put on or when im about to start the car? I read somethin about primeing a turbo, but idk what that is. Any advice/info would be helpful. Thanks guys.

I would look into having to prime the turbo. I do not know if upgrades require this or not, but definatly pull the EFI fuses before you start it!

you need to pull the efi fuse and crank the engine over till you see oil pressure measuring on the gauge. Then do it again. After that you can put the efi fuse in and crank the motor over and let it run a little while. After that you should be good to go.

Which is a way of disabling the engine from firing up. I was trying to push him towards searching on how to do that, but you just gave the info to him.

I'm sure he appreciated "just getting the info". It seems more helpful to get a complete answer than one that prompts more searching. I know when I ask for help, I really appreciate how people on here go out of their way to make sure I have all the information I'll need.

When I first replied to him I was going to say, "pull the efi fuse, then pull the spark plugs out to help it crank easier" but I worded it differently to make the OP think some. How hard is it to put 2 and 2 together and figure out how to keep the engine from starting when cranking? It should have been a short search for an answer to something like what I posted ;).

Its not readin the right pressure. Its stuck all the way at the top and sometimes it will come down to about 80-120. I no theres nuthin wrong wit my car its just that I bought the car with ugly gauges in it so I replaced them with stock gauges. So when I put in the oil pressure gauge I guess I must of lined it up wrong.

Yea when I got the car it came with ugly white with red glitter gauges. All the gauags worked fine but the oil pressure was too low and now since i put the stock gauges in its too high! I no that could be the reason cause it cant be my motor since it was rebuilt 26000miles ago by a certified toyota mechanic. But you never know.

You should hook up and external mechanical oil gauge and read the pressure according to TSRM spec when the oil is at operating temps to make sure you are ok. It has been discussed here just this last week, so that thread shouldn't be hard for you to find quickly with a little thought on word searching ;).
