Hello, My Name is Dustin. Just bought an '87 N/A from a friend who needed some money, and the car out of his parents front yard.

Little background: My first vehicle was an '84 Toyota Land Cruiser. I love that truck so much, it's still in the back yard. I then got the itch for a sporty car. I brought the '84 Saab 900 S that was rotting in the back yard to life, and that got me hooked on Saab's. After about year of the 8 valve 4 cylinder. I wanted more. I bought the first vehicle of my own; a 1985 Saab 900 Turbo. Payed $400 and towed it home. Clutch master cylinder and Brake master cylinder later and turned up the boost (at 34X,XXX miles mind you) and this happened:

Slipping clutch and loads of knock.

The transmission finally blew up and I bought my current DD, a 2002 Saab 9-5 Aero.

The Supra has a very blown up engine. They said it would run but had a knocking sound. When I tried, It sounded like someone taking a sledge hammer to a sheet of metal. :: angry ::
They had it running like that?? :aigo:

Moderate plans of ~350-400 rwhp with 7mgte or 2jz

She is ugly:

Thanks. The body seems to be in great shape. The only rust I see is the spare tire area. I am stripping the interior here in the next few days, so I will have a better grasp of what I am working with.

Make sure you check the wheel wells with your hands (you can get in easy when the rear interior is out of the car. ) Undercoated wheelwells usually means hidden holes in our cars. You can tell if you have water in the rear section quarter panel or a lot of dust (if in a dry area). I had to rebuild the wheel wells and the quarter panels (patch panels dont exist for ur) on my car to seal that back area up. To me, the spare tire well is just a minor fix ... easy to get at and repair.. the quarters are the scariest rust area. (not discussing subframe.. that is a different kettle of fish I have not had to deal with).

lol.. just noticed the multicolor interior : ) Too bad we arent closer I have a complete blue leather interior in awesome shape sitting in my 87 right now (havent started parting it out yet).

I'll make sure to check, I am starting a check list in excel to help me remember and stay on track. This car was technically the PO's parts car, but it ran better then the good car. So they stole the body parts and interior bits to get it looking decent. The electrics in the seats still work, so I have no complains for right now.
