After 6 weeks, I finally got my turbo IS300 back with new R154, tubular manifold, and more. Initial impressions are pretty good. Its alot different than my stock 5-speed. The HKS GDmax twin plate feels really good. The loud chatter of the 2nd plate is a little annoying when clutch is disengaged. Shifting for the most part seems smooth with my short throw shifter. I had some issues with getting in 3rd a few times but nothing serious.

One thing i have noticed is that for the time being, the R154 is LOUD, very loud. I realize that this is mainly due to the fact that a portion of the center console was removed for fitment issues. I definitely need to add some noise barrier/sound dampening material to reduce the noise. I can barely hear my engine/boost at the moment!! I'm looking forward to really pushing it once i break it in after 500 miles....
Also, my speedo doesn't work cuz the mechanical sensor is not compatilble with my ecu. I know how to fix it though.

weld in some steel to cover up the gaps, then add sound sound deadening. The transmission isn't loud, its the fact ur tranny isnt isolated from the cabin.

everyting is good now. first problem was when they banged out the tunnel for fitting the tranny, the banged out section was not allowing me to push the gas pedal to the floor. i got that fixed.
next i started seeing lots of blue smoke the next day. obvioulsy i was burning oil somewhere initially. A friend of mine and i figured out that it was the red tube going from the catch can to the intake pipe off the compressor. When u guys positioned the pipe so the air filter would fit, that tubing was kinked big time and was not functioning properly. I just went to napa to get a 90 degree egr plastic thing to connect the tube in a straight line instead. everything is good now.
i have to go back for the center console. they r gonna work with the stock metal plate to make it work and ill be getting some dyna mat in the mail thursday. hopefully that will solve the noise situation. Other than that, i just got the wiring instructions on line to make my speedo work and thats it!
