Final re-assembly questions

Hi all

I have a few questions now that my engine is back in the car...

- There's a coolant hose coming off of the bottom of the upper intake chamber (near the 2nd runner)... where does it go??

- There's two ring lugs coming from the wiring loom (i think :icon_conf), down towards the back of the intake manifold. I believe they are ground lugs and connect to the bolts by the 5th and 6th runners holding the intake chamber to the lower manifold?

- There's a square plug in the same group of plugs as all my transmission connectors. (A340) I don't think it was connected when I removed the engine, but I wanted to check. :)

- There's another plug coming from the wiring loom up near the 5th and 6th injector plugs. It is a brown plug with two red/black wires. I believe it was for the EGR vsv or the FPU vsv which have now been removed.

- Also wanted to make sure that the injector plugs alternate between red and silver plugs, starting with a silver one for the 1st cylinder and ending with a red for the 6th?

Let me know if you need pictures of any of these connectors/hoses/etc.

Any help appreciated, thanks.

I think that is the starter wire. Just a thought.

Hmm, I don't think so. Looks like the starter wire has two connectors - one coming from the loom and one from the battery. I have already connected these and there's still one left over!

#1 - not entirely sure, try this diagram: http://www.cygnusx1.net/supra/library/EPC/MKIII_NATO/291420/2211_2.html - are you talking about the hose in the very bottom left corner?

#2 Correct. These are the ground wires for the ECU.

#3 - I don't recall a square plug that isn't used. Have you plugged in both the knock sensors? The starter? Reverse light indicator & speed sensor to the tranny?

#4 - sounds like the EGR plug, though I'm not certain of the wire colors off the top of my head.

#5 - the injector plugs alternate all right. I don't recall which one was first ... I had some pics stashed away, but can't seem to find them right away. If nobody else chimes in soon, I'll dig harder or look at the car.

#1 - Hmm, I think it could be that hose - I'll check the bottom of the ISC valve when I get home.
#2 - Thanks :)
#3 - Starter and Both knock sensors are plugged in - I don't know which plugs are for the reverse light indicator and speed sensor to the tranny but I'll have a better look when I get home.
#4 - I'll go dig up my EGR parts out of the "old parts bucket" and check out what connector it uses.
#5 - Thanks :)

Cheers for the help GrimJack!

Ok... home now.

#1 - How many hoses come out of the ISC valve? There's a fat one heading to the PCV pipe and a smaller one heading to the throttle body. Should there be another? (this one!)
EDIT: #1 - Yep, its meant to be connected to the bottom of the ISC valve. Sigh, now I have to work out how the hell i'm gonna connect it up! :p

#3 - there's two round connectors and a square one already plugged into the tranny, the spare square one is there with them. I'll try and get a picture... any ideas what it could be for?

#4 - This is indeed the FPU vsv :)

Oh, and while I was digging around at all this - it looks like there's a ring lug (like a ground/power lug) coming down towards the engine from the battery bay. It is connected to the starter motor battery cable - any ideas where that one goes? :icon_conf
EDIT: I'm thinking its the starter motor ground. I'll look up the starter motor in the TSRM/EPC and check it out...

Thanks

If it is the large wire that connects to the starter, it is a power cable and runs from the battery(+) to the starter. Ther is a large ground wire that runs from the (-) battery terminal, and mounts near the AC compressor bracket.
