I just bought a HKS BOV and it has a steal mounting flange welded to a piece of steal pipe. The piece of pipe is 2 inch. and has maybe about an inch on either side of the BOV for couplings to link to rest of the pipes. BBUUTT...is 2inch. pipes ok. It looks so small. The highest amount of boost I will ever run is 12 psi, even if that. I have had a few people tell me 2inch. pipes are ok, but other people tell me 2 1/4 and 2 1/2. What size should I do??
:nono:
Also an off the subject question...is it ok to buy a used fuel pump..like a Walboro 255. Or should I just buy it new..?? Can I replace the fuel pump with out dropping the tank??
:nono:
Also the oil return pipe off the turbo, should I replace that with a better flowing one or is the stock one ok??
:nono:
And what the best way to prep the block for a new HG. What tools should I use? Anything else besides ARP Head studs that I can do to ensure a great seal( some kinda spray or anything).
:nono: ..... :biglaugh:
Thanks for your help guys... :icon_bigg

You must drop the tank to replace the fuel pump since it's on the top of it. I also heard of people using brake quiet spray on the HG to seal it.

i think you can have access to the fuel pump if you remove the trunk carpet and the plywood it'a trap with three screws. i have that trap on my corolla and it's for that.
you'll have access to the plugs but to take it out you'll need to cut the floor just a little

no thats for the sending unit...

walbros are so cheap (80-90 bucks) just get a new one...

youll have to drop the tank to install it...

2inch piping is fine for 12psi...

the stock oil return line is more then fine...just a pita sometimes...if anything just get some braided lines to make removal and installation easier...

as for prep for a mhg...do some searching and dont use any type of sealing spray...its not needed with a NEW mhg...

Just drop the tank, it's a peice of cake...... or just use a plasma cutter and cut a hole in the rear hatch above the tank..... :biglaugh: But seriously...... there are two bolts (atleast on mkII's) holding it in place, and like 3 on the filler neck, behind the fuel door..... well, I guess there are what, 3 lines going to the tank..... maybe 10 mins to get them off, two are just those stupid hose clamps that are about worthless, and one will be a PITA, but once it's broke loose, it'll never be a problem again.... take these hoses off, take the two straps off, just make sure it's empty, or really close to it..... Don't use a jack on the bottom of the tank, U wont be happy if you do, ummm...... yeah, thats about it for dropping a tank, well, take the wire connectors off, some people say to disconnect them through those access panels in the hatch, I say drop it then DC them, there's plenty of slack.

Don't buy a used fuel pump.... thats silly..... :icon_bigg Get used to spending money on parts..... you drive a Supra. :biglaugh:
