I just put a 90 7MGTE in an 87 Supra turbo... I got maybe 95% of the harness all connected. A few plugs were broken because of who i bought it from and never replied to me... but I rigged most of what I needed on. on these pictures... where do the yellow ish plugs go? and this white and red set of wires go. These are the wires that have the starter wire next to them.

Also.. another question, just out of curiousity, i wanted to see if it would turn the starter or do anything at all... BUT it wont turn the starter or anything. What I can say is that I hear a clicking sound by the ECU? which sounds like I'm getting somewhere.. but i'm still... no where :)... any ideas guys.. thanks again.

The clicking you hear by the ECU is the starter relay. The two yellowish/white plugs I believe are for the transmission. Either for an automatic (solenoids), backup switch and/or the speed sensor.

2 square plugs for auto tranny, and part of the reverse light circuite. you have to tap 2 of the wires together, but i dont remember which ones. plus, you have to jumper the NSW wires. they are the big 12ga wires in the round connector. just make a short jumper wire out of 12ga and 2 male spade connectors. shove them into the 2 terminals of the round connector and tape it up.

Um... Automatic... i have another few questions... I have an 5speed supra... i'm assuming the guy who ripped me off sold me an automatic harness? is this really really bad? Would it make a big difference, because this is scaring me... with the starter what i did was I just used a push starter switch. I can hear the car fine, turn and everything... but it wont start... I'm sure i did TDC correctly... but whats tripping me out is that if this is an automatic harness... could that be why its not starting? :nono: i dunno... I'm also not getting a spark. Thanks again guys.

*edit* NM about me being scared over the auto harness on a 5speed, i found a post saying you can use an auto harness on a 5speed but not a 5speed on an auto :).. but car still doesn't start... if any ideas it would be appreciated :)

Ok.. i did the splicing for the automatic portion of the harness... but car doesnt start still... It may be because of these wires i found all chopped up under my glove compartment where the ECU is... can anyone tell me if these wires specifically is whats not letting my car to start or spark... :) sorry for all the questions and problems... just this car has to move before the end of the month :)

Yeah, well... I put all those wires together to the plug on the harness wires... and well it sounds like the fuel pump is actually on.. YAY... but.. still no sparky... so I'm re-doing the CPS wires that I Rigged up because there was no plugs for them. I looked around the forum and I gues it goes as follows:

Red(ECU)--->Green(CPS)
Blue(ECU)--->Red(CPS)
Black(ECU)--->White(CPS)
Yellow(ECU)--->Yellow(CPS)

I must of had these also in the incorrect places the first time... I'll see what happens :). thanks again.

no spark? try checking the 7.5A IGN fuse in the drivers side kick panel.

heh... i don't think its that... BUT now I have a NEW problem.. I fixed the spark problem. Which is a PLUS :)... but Tell me if I'm what I'm doing is all WRONG with the starter. OK I tried to start the car w/ the key and well.. all i hear is the starter relay... soo I figured i'll just use a switch for now.. I rigged up a switch and tried to start it with that, and the starter turns the motor in all, and I get spark, but the car doesnt start. Is that a bad idea as far as the switch i did? same concept as if it were the key tho right. but just a switch to start the car. I would put the keys in the ON position and then press the switch to turn the starter... but no start, but i have spark and fuel pump is pumping fuel... What can i check? I can hear the pump, but I'm not sure if the injectors are even injecting fuel. how can i check that also :) thanks again. and I checked that GTE part... thats not it HAHAHAHA... at least i don't think thats it

OK OK.. i found something... which makes a little sense... seeing how i get everything else put the fuel... i looked at my haynes for this past hour and a half.. or whatever amount of time i spent at it... and yeah its like what you said johnathan, but I'm not sure if its the same thing really. I looked around the motor, and my book or my BIBLE... and looks like my "cold start Injector plug" isn't pluged into anything.... thing is i don't know where to plug it... because seems like all the plugs are pluged up. Here is my plug the Green wire and black/light blue wired plug.

hmm.. damn... question... If i put the key on the on position, and i hear something.. may even be fuel pumping.. i dunno... but i hear a sound on the ENGINE on the intake manifolds side... does that mean my fuel injectors are not pumping fuel at all? or they are? Just sounds like something is turned on in the intake manifold side, and I just don't remember if i heard that before on my last engine.

do this:

get a jumper wire (paper clip or whatever) and jump +B and FP in the diagnostic block. you should hear the fuel pump turn on. (listen near the gas door)
