I've Heard Good And Bad Things About Fcd. I Was Going To Get An Hks Fcd, But Have Read A Few Posts That Say They Arent That Safe. I'm Already Running 11 Psi On Stock Ct26 And Only Get Fuel Cut A Little Bit When Really Get On It At The Track. I Am Only Wanting To Go To 13 Psi. I Have A Boost Controller And I'm Getting It Tuned And Dynoed At Autolabz In Birmingham. Does Anyone Know If The Fcd Is Going To Cause More Problems Than Its Worth. I Wasnt Really Wanting To Go To The Lexus Afm, Because I Didnt Think I Would Need Bigger Injectors Or Anything Like That. Thanks In Advance For Any Help.

If you plan on only 13psi on a stock turbo go with a FCD. If you ever plan going with a bigger turbo even if it is a upgraded stock turbo go with 550cc and lexus afm. It will only save you money in the long run.

I'll keep it simple for you, but if you have any more questions PM me.

P.s. I run 550 and a lexus. Never messed with a FCD. Know a couple of people with them, never heard any complaints from them.

Thanks For Your Help. You Made It Short And Simple. The Only Other Question I Have Is This: I Read On Another Thread That You Can Take Your Stock Afm Off And Drill A Hole In It And Screw A Screw All The Way In And That Is Supposed To Eliminate Fuel Cut. Has Anyone Tried This? Please Let Me Know. Thanks

all that lil trick with the stock afm body does is push the f/c back a lil bit(not by much), and it seems to let the turbo spool up just a little faster. not only that u r letting in a little more air than normal. not a bad trick, its just cheeper than buying the lexus afm. takes about 10 minutes and a lil thread tape to make sure the screw dont fall out.

Go with maft. FCD sucks. Lex needs 550s to work. MAFT rocks and can use any injectors from stock to 1600 cc.

thanks for all of your answers. for the pepople that say fcd sucks. what is a MAFT? i'm guessing it stands for mass air flow titties.... where can i get one and how much do they cost? i want to get whats best for my car, but i really dont think that i need a lexus afm because i dont plan on running more than 13 pounds, nor do i want bigger injectors. thanks a bunch.

Im running the 1uz-fe AFM and the fuel pressure raised, works not too bad but only as a stop gap to get around boost cut any more then 150rwkw / any form of seriousness your much better off geting a stand alone ecu to make the most out of any further modifications you make

Whats MAF-T?

it is a GM Mass Air Flow Translator... it allows you to use a gm mass air sensor... I'm using a 3in right now... but it also allows you to put the sensor in your IC lines after your bov which will allow you to run in blow through mode and vent your bov to the atmosphere... just my two cents... it's better than the fcd or lex afm...

Allan I absolutely agree that standalone is the answer. But the Maft will easilly flow 600 rwhp, and is much less than the buy in for a standalone. IMO, EMS is the only way to go over here in the states. but for the "typical" 4-500 hp build, ems would have a ton of unused features. I have a 3" GM Maf, and I love it, someday I'll have EMS, but for now, I use the MAFT with great succes. 200 plus 30-40 for the sensor. Lex is 175, plus 550s, or fuel pressure regulater, both of which are more that total more than 240, and are not nearly as versitle. (sp?)

I absolutely love my MAF-T as well! I didnt believe I could get more crisp accelleration with just a new MAF, even in draw through. Tuning is very narrow, though a great budget buy until something more specific

You don't need 550's to run a lex. I did it without one and a friend is doing it too with 440's and Lex. We both have widebands and neither had lean issues. He runs a full 60-1 T4 and 18 psi also. He ran into fuel cut with the lex at 17 psi so is now running an FCD too. I would buy a wideband then a lex.

If i were to get the MAF-T, and had it all setup correctly, could i leave all the all the tuning points completely stock, and tune with a SAFC?
