I know there are people out there running IPT or level 10 stuff, but I'd like to see if anyone has had success on the strip. Post time slips, I'd like to see 60' times, ET, trap speed, and what kind of HP you have if you have dyno'd. Mostly interested in 7M powered MKIII cars for comparison purposes.

Not quite ready to go TH400 here yet, but I'm going to find the limits of this 340, I'ts IPT parts and valve body, built it myself. I need something to work for here....bring it.

Edit: found a couple on the 1/4 list thread: unfortunately, none had time slips:nono:

toyman1987 - 11.81 @ 117.49 - sp63, aem, 750's, a340 w/ 3200 stall
Suprarich ---- 11.95 @ 114 -1.73 60', Stock CT/IC, a340, vpc/afc, 70 shot N2O.

Youve started another thread? Are you feeling o.k.? I thought you were just a lurker.........:biglaugh:

Vonda hasn't taken hers to the track yet and besides that, she only makes about 350rwhp. I can't wait to see what yours will do though. Make sure your wife takes video of runs down the track.......please.

I will get vids, I want to go Sunday but after tuning with the new cams, I now have crazy top end spool....my wastegate is too small and I got the creeps. If I can find a way around it hitting fuel cut, I will run it Sunday, otherwise will be a couple weeks.

OK I have put 461rwhp through a a340e in a soarer with just a shift kit, the transmission is the same as the MKIII supra except the rear extension housting is different but can be swaped over and bellhousing.

I believe the fastest A340e is Shanes, it lives in a 1991 MX83 Toyota Cressida Grande, powered by a 1jzgte and has run 10.17 at 137.52 mph, I believe it weighs 3440lbs, he must be making somewhere 650hp at the crank http://www.1jz747.com/

Still all stock trans. I was thinking about shimming it until I at least pick up the IPT valve body.

It was warm and humid for October. The track is scheduled to be open the first two Saturdays of November. I will be back just to see if it will go faster in better air. The 14.88 time.

You're pretty much bone stock besides exhaust, right Nick?

Yes. I added the drjonez manual boost controller. I went 15.5 @92 with the HKS downpipe and turbo exhaust.

That run was about 12-13 psi. At least that is where I set the controller.

In an old Supra article, shaeff has links, TRD put together a car with HKS EVC, PFC F-CON, FCD, full exhaust and said it had 330 hp. It went 14.6 @ 96, with the stock A340E. First, it doesn't have 330 hp. HKS said 330 with the intercooler, 285 with the boost controller and exhaust. That car had the stock 3.91, so that would make the for the slightly quicker ET. That and I ran in humid air. I think my quicker trap is the Lex meter being a little larger, and a car that is broken in. Toyota doesn't get broken in until 100,000 miles as everybody know.

13.9 @ 108.

Tranny is 100% stock except for the shims in the accumulators. With a real launch and decent 60' the ET would have come down a lot.

This is OLD information, but there was a magazine article YEARS ago about the EVC boost controller in an MK3 auto. It was relatively stock and they were playing with the boost controller.

If I recall they were in the low 13s, and I've heard of other stock autos in the 12s. You can certainly do it, it is just a matter of how long it lasts.

I recall at vegas a car running 13.9 on a relatively mild setup with a stock auto as well.

You can also upgrade to an A341 from a JZA70. It all bolts on if you have a 91+. I put one in my 91 7m and it feels a bit snappier around town. The torque converter (required) is also slightly larger to the eye, but I never measured it. The guy who did the 13.9, he uses an A341 and just puts in a new one every year since they are so cheap.

My a340 is a SIP built auto with a SIP 3000 stall converter with a SIP valve body. I have over 200 1/4 mile passes with 360 rwhp on it. About 30 of those passes was with a 70 hp shot of nitrous added which would put it at about 410-420 rwhp. No problems as of yet.

Do you remember the magazine? The only one I have shows a 14.6 @ 97 with the EVC, PFC-FCON, FCD, and full exhaust, at 13 psi.

I'm an idiot and I spun a bearing, but I was stoked with my 1.84 60'. Hoping possibly to get back out Halloween weekend, dropping the front suspension and oil pan this weekend.

Anyhow the funny thing about the video is......it sounds like the baddest ass Supra ever....truth is it's pretty loud with open DP, but you can't hear it in this video because it's drown out by an 8 second Mustang. You can not see the mustang at all and it shut down right as I puked so it sounds like me letting off. Cool!

Rich, did you spray on launch to get that 1.73 60' ??

Seems like Outofstep broke into the 11's on his A340 also. Somebody want to go to SF and see?

Yes, Not during spool while brake boosting, but as soon as I lift the brake. That was with a stock ct and stock intercooler.

Perfect thread for me to find.

Since we are on the subject, what are the differences between the a340 strapped to a 7m and the a340 strapped to a 1jz. The only reason I am asking, is because I am going to have a 1jz a340 very soon, and am tempted to make the swap to auto. Only downside is that I have a manual harness on my 1jz, so I cannot run the auto off of the box. I will be shifting it manually all the time, rather than just tossing it in drive.
Is it possible to run the MA70 a340 without the computer, and shift into 4th?
Is it possible to run the JZA70 a340 without the computer, and shift into 4th?
I am looking at putting between 400 and 450whp through it on pump gas (the only stuff my car runs off of), and was wondering if it will hold, and for how long.
