A/C thermo switch in the thermostat housing. They should come on when the car is at operating temperature and the AC is on.

yes there is a switch near the thermostat housing.
It activates the aux fans at 210f or when the a/c is turned on.

I have a question in addition to add to this thread that goes along with it.

Is this fan just to provide a little extra cooling when the AC is on in your car, that being it's only purpose? By taking this fan out, and leaving the plug, are you hurting anything?

I just installed dual fans on my radiator. Reference http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?t=24807

I had to take this little fan out. I just want to make sure it didn't need to be there. I can't see any reason why it would need to be there if my car is not overheating anymore with the dual fans. I just want to make sure.

Those fans are there to move more air thorugh the condenser and radiator under high A/C loads and/or water temps. If your replacement fans cover the same area, they should be okay.

However I suspect your new fan control is not monitoring the A/C high-side pressure so it will not be sensitive to cooling load. From your other thread it seems you have plumbed in your own thermoswitch. You might consider using the stock fan control circuitry to energize one of your new fans, and leave the other as is. Just something to think about. Here's the wiring diagram for the stock setup.
