I am just looking at mild upgrades on my car simalar to what Lintlars had on his car before ( judging from your posts I read) I am going with a 60-1 trim turbo and some bolt ons. anyways would you recomend the spearco or should I just keep looking, also how is that ssautochrome holding up?

it really depends on the the use of the car and the power that you are trying to get.

If using it for daily drive without much over stock power and without a lot of long sustained boost runs then no, an upgrade is not necessary, but is not really a bad idea either. The stock IC is not really as bad as a lot off people think for its (Toyota) intended use.

I am building a drift spec car but still street legal. I dont need a whole buch of power either I think that 350hp at the wheels is a good start, I will be driving this car on weekends to and from events and whenever else I feel like.

With that said, then yeah my seguestion is to upgrade.

edit: correction, I read it wrong, and agree with Grim. Stock one should be fine.

Lintlars what did you think of the spearco? I cant have to much pressure drop and 2psi could be a little much, I could buy a apex intercooler used but in good shape off of a friend, but would require all new piping

Speeking of piping, the OEM piping is a pretty major issue in itself and i'd change that before the IC. Alot of the lose in the system is from the piping itself.

edit: Added info below.

Example of this is when I originaly converted to na-t. With the turbo and the IC being stock and using custom built 3" DP and exhaust and custom 2.5" IC hard pipes. With out shimming the wastegate or using a boost controler, I was getting 9.5psi at the manifold and yet a stock turbo car will only get around 6psi or so at the manifold. The car dynoed 329hp and 334tq both rear wheel numbers. This was also with a 2mm MLS HG to lower the compression slightly and full stand alone system.

Spearco is a very nice intercooler and it maintains the stock intercooler piping configuration If you are upgrading your turbo I would also do the intercooler and pipes it will also help with throttle response.
