my car has a similar problem, but it will go off for absolutely no reason...i will lock it, and then it will go off a few mins later... what do those little black thingys do?? The things that are black plastic, and just above the door lock striker. They kinda move back and forth...mine is missing one, and the other is broken...

Sounds like it's time for you folks to pull the factory alarm and install a switch on your fuel pump instead. That way you still get the security of nobody being able to steal your car without the services of a towtruck, and you don't have to deal with the worn lock sensors anymore.

I'm awfully glad that my Canadian spec car didn't come with the factory alarm.

The other option, of course, is to get an aftermarket alarm installed, then you'll have even better security and the installer can yank the factory system at the same time.
