Alright i have had the car since august and well its stored away for like 4 months now... Well it didnt work before so im assuming the person before me disabled it somehow? I have all the recipts from the car since it was brand new... yes even the paperwork when it was bought... well anyway they kept on buying door bezels or something like that so i think that was causing them trouble...

I want to get the alarm working again or would it be better just to get an aftermarket alarm?

an aftermarket provides the convince of remote lock/unlock :)
but i'd get the stock working and have both.
it's really cool to set mine off and have the aftermarket siren playing it's six different tones or whatever it is PLUS the stock horns blaring, what a racket, and head lights pop up :D can't make the headlights pop up with an aftermarket.

I agree afttermarket is nice. For $50 you can get an all in one box that'll do alarm, remote start, keyless entry, trunk popping, the works.

The door sensors are a common problem on these cars, especially the driver's side. Fix that first and then step through each function and sensor. Btw, the rear hatch sensor circuit can be easily adapted to protect your gas filler door.

It's not supposed to go off when you knock a window out because it has no shock or glass breakage sensor. It's easy to add one though.

It *is* supposed to go off if you unlock the doors from the inside if it's armed. No need to open a door to set it off because the lock solenoids have switches in them. Trip the locks when the alarm is armed and it'll go off.

Seeing the path we are on in regards to gas prices, I would be3 interested on how to do this since I just intsalled an after market alarm after totally disabling the OEM alarm. I even used the facory LED in the factory location.

Thanks

Drill a hole behind the filler door. There's a hole with little rubber bumper there you can use instead if you want. Install normally closed pin switch and wire in parallel to the hatch switch (or any active low input on your aftermarket alarm).

Hmm, that sir is a pretty ingenius way to arm the gas door.

Thanks for the tip.

it could be the problem if you are unlocking the passenger door. the alarm will not be disarmed.

what issues are you having?

well since owning the car i have never seen the alarm light lit when i locked the doors, and i tested it several times to see if i could trip the alarm by locking it with the key and unlocking it from inside.....no luck, it just onlocks. but some stuff has been done i assume because there is an extra cable that went through the firewall and i dont know what it was (its not cut) and it could be that the stock was eliminated for an aftermarket.... not sure.
