The MOST strange thing EVER happened to me just minutes ago.

I drove my supra to work today, and it was just perfect. Trans shifted smooth, shifter felt great. Came out and got in the car to leave, and nothing. No gears, no gear pattern, just nothing at all. The shifter flops around like nothing is attached.

I think, ok, shifter somehow got broken, so I break out a screwdriver and a 10mm socket. Pull the shifter, everything appears fine. Don't know what happened. looked down the hole, the cup is still there, and seems to be working. I get no grinding or noise at all.

This shit happens after two months of prep for the tx2k8 meet, two days before I leave for it.

I love what you do for me toyota!

Maybe the bolt came out that holds the bellcrank that the shifter socket fits into to the shift rod? (part 33521F) That wouldn't be terribly hard to get to.

Fixed... In baton rouge, only four hours away from houston... Spending the night on BJ's couch.

We will be detailing the car in the morning, and heading out wednesday with the crew.

dunno.... haven't torn that trans down yet. We put a 40k mile 1jz trans in it for the time being... I figure that trans should last a good while, since it's never had any torque run through it.

I had a new clutch I was going to throw in while it was out, but it was the wrong one. Gotta send it back to titan and get a new one. It was even stamped the correct part number on the splines, but it did not even fit all the way over the taper.

I'll yank the tail housing off the trans when I get home from tx. prob take pictures too!
