Well I just took my car for a drive to go get some food and I noticed my oil pressure was abnormally high.

I am running a GE block so no oil cooler, oil filter elbow, oil cooler pressure relief valve.

I am thinking the only thing that could cause this is a stuck pressure relief valve in the pump. Its all original 152k miles, non shimmed pump.

Usually when the motor is cold I notice the pressure relief valve opens around 70 PSI, I can see a little dip/spike in the oil pressure when this happens.

Thanks,
Devin

2nd bad oil pressure sending unit
also seems like your wire is loosing connection

mine did this and found the previous owner rapped the wire around the sending unit for my autometer gauge
with wire unhooked the gauge shoot all the way up
touch sender and it goes back to normal

i just cant see you oil pressure building that high that fast with a stuck pressure valve

Its not a loose wire, it does not peg out it matches with RPM, I have not had a chance to do a test with the mechanical gauge, Im thinking its the sender unit though

lol, i have glowshift as my backup in the radio din slot.
any problems with the gauges so far?
check your wiring, i remember oil pressure suppose to be grounded to work properly otherwise it goes to max pressure.
