Extending Throttle Body on FFIM?

I talked to a fabricator yesterday about ffim's and he said that he wants to try as a prototype to add a undetermined length of pipe pre TB flange to extend the throttle body farther out.

Is there any benefits to this? Will this look stupid?

Ummm....only thing I can think of is plenum volume getting too big, or loosing velocity. Any reasoning on why he wants to do this? and how much are we talking about?

Maybe for better throttle response? The same reason people go for the shortest route of IC piping maybe.

The only reason he said that he wanted to do this was because it would make fabricating IC pipes that much easier.
