exhaust question

i just installed a 3" ddp on my 90 supra. everything went together with no problems.
i have notice two things since installing it........
1. it seems like it takes longer to build boost, i thought it would be quicker.
2. it sounds like some of the exhaust is coming out of the dump at all times. mind you, i can tell when the wastegate opens, so i'm sure that's fine. it just sounds like some of the exhaust is going past the divider and exiting the dump tube at all times.
has anyone had to modify the divider on these pipes to stop this from happening?
also, could this be the reason for the boost issue?
thanks in advance...........

it's a bic. i got it unused from a friend that went in a different direction. prior to changing the pipe, i had no leaks. i had the boost set at 10lbs, and it built boost quickly. i didn't change anything else at this time.
i thought i read a thread here somewhere discussing that ddp, and possible problems.

Did it seal up fine? Iirc sometimes you had to sand the tab a tad.

Didnt take off the 3k piping and forget to tighten something or put a vac hose on?

i didn't do any sanding on it. the pipe bolted up and was perfectly flat against the turbo. i didn't touch any vac hoses during the install.
could installing a more free-flowing exhaust change the boost pressure? what i mean is, should i turn up the boost at this point to get it where it was before the install?

cool, i'll try that. i turned it up before, but kept hitting fuel cut at 13psi so i settled on 9-10psi. i'm going to try and get it as close as possible without hitting it.

thanks for the help.
