I've had exhaust mani. gaskets leak, take them out, bolt the mani. straight to the head(no rtv, gasket, or anything), and fix the leak(Chevy's are good for this). I know a guy that builds high hp(900+ before spray) race motors, and all he uses for header to head sealing is high temp ultra black rtv. No leaks, either. The gaskets I use with my header on my n/a are perforated steel(not graphite), with high temp. ultra black rtv. It doesn't leak, and its been on that way for over a year.

Don't doubt the sealing power of high temp ultra black rtv. It works.

Available the day after valentimes day. I know what to ask for.

I'm going to use the toyota gasket and copper spray.

Discuss.

Is it worth it, or is it just for bling bling purposes.

One thing for sure, copper is a great gasket meterial as they are softer/malleable and can seal up in between when torqued.

In your case, I don't think it is necesary to go that far. A normal factory spec gasket with new Studs and nuts will work fine. Copper spray is great for this.

But depending how many times you will be removing/replacing your gaskets/head whatever, copper may be a better choice as you can re-use it.

I'm upgrading the fasteners to 7/16 studs with helicoils, and spraying the stock toyota gasket with copper spray. I should be more than fine.

I started this thread because i wasn't sure if anyone knew about it or cared.

Maybe, i'll buy it when i finally go GT-4082 or T04R.
