Anyone here running the HKS, Blitz, tanabe or random technologies Cat-back exhaust systems? Was on Suprastore.com looking at them. Not sure how they sound.

I ran the HKS super dragger. Huge 85 mil piping, sweet mellow note you can barely hear in regular driving, and a nice coated set of pipes with fully chrome coated canister to top it all off. It was a good buy in my eyes.

I have the HKS super dragger, but if I had to do it all over again I would to with the Tanabe. You cant beat the price for what you're getting. My HK$ has rust holes in it already.

Well the tanabe is SS and 3.14" piping. and has a decent price. We're not looking to spend boo-koo bux on a pipe and muffler. we'll be buying it probly oh say... in december. As of now, Tanabe is #1 on my list.

lol, HorsePowerFreaks.com, SupraStore.com, 935MotorSports.com, Ebay.com, MVPmotorsports.com, HPF is by far the best to deal with and have better prices on some of their exhausts, if money isnt an issue then i would reccomend the HPF 4" Goliath System, sounds fuckin awesome and they have a video/sound clip of it on their website

Goliath!!
I have run Blitz, Apex, Cooleeze.
I preffer blitz, but the Apex has a really DEEP tone that the blitz doesn't have. The cooleeze is a great buy for the price, but you have to get a muffler. I got the Apex n1 muffler, and I really like the sound. But the real apex has 3.25 piping, which I like.

If you must get one right away, I'd recommend the HPF Goliath if you have the money.

I have to agree with Tubbie-the Kakimoto Hyper Full Mega N1 is pretty sweet. I've only seen it installed on a R33 GTR and it sounded great. It looks pretty damn good, too. I'm almost positive that it's an 80mm/3.1" system, though, so $800 is too much for that.

Stretch-If 85mm/3.3" piping is "huge," than what's the Goliath? The canister and tip on the Drager is SS, not chrome. Just filling you in. ;)

Alright alright :icon_razz , it's not chrome but it sure looks chrome. And i said the dragger's piping is huge because at the time when I got it it was pretty much the biggest. I will always support the goliath tho, because i had talked to hpf a while ago telling them to make something like it, and a full 4 inch pipe is friggin nice for flow. If anyone is serious about performance they should either get the goliath or make their own exhaust but similar to the goliath and try for the biggest piping they can find, and fit.

well performance isn't #1 on this '90T. b/c it's my girldfirends; daily driver. We're just looking for a nice catback at a something we can afford. Goliath is way over our budget. If it were my car and was building it to go fast, ok,.... but it's not. I'm thinking Titan DP, test pipe, and Tanabe SMH cat back. should be WAY more then she needs.

That sounds like a pretty good setup for a G/F's car.

I just got a cat back put on my 89T... got tired of driving around with open dp :)

anyway i just went down to the local muffler shop and paid the guy to put 3 inch pipe all the way back to a glass pack then a dual tip... tip.

less than half the price of these brand name catbacks and it sounds sooo good.

I have custom built exhausts on my 4runner (Xtreme wheeler) and th old Vette I had, and 3" downpipe on my '84 supra. I'm kinda tired of having custom exhausts really, for this job I just want the simplicity of being able to bolt it up and unbolt it if needed. and I've never had a Stainless exhaust before. So I think the Tanabe SMH Catback is gonna be the ticket. thanks for the input guys. I now know where to shop for mk3 parts. I really like the Goliath, but WAY WAY over budget and more than we need.

If only it didn't look like and actually was garbage. The glass pack, not the piping.

Hey you guys...doesn't anyone build thier own catback?

I have a 3 & 1/2 " stainless mandral bent (myself) from a high flow cat (summitt) through a flowmaster (that's right a flowmaster).

It was cheap to build, has minimal bends, very little backpressure, and sounds bitchen (forgive me it's a socal term).

I think more people ought to try making this kind of stuff. It's satisfying, works great if you think it out and you save mega $$$$$'s!

EDIT: SP 7M IS RIGHT...GLASS PACKS SUCK! SOON YOU'LL BE SHOOTING FLAMING PIECES OF FIBERGLASS OUT YOUR TAILPIPE. Wait and see.

Has anyone tried the Exhaust Depot system? It has an N-1 style can, SS 3" piping and a resonator. I was thinking about it cause my straight through custom job has too many bends and is real loud inside.
