Hey everyone,

I just received my turn signals from Spinningheadboy on the forums. I want to remove the lens to clean the insisde and I see little tabs around the outside. Before I go ahead and break it, I just want to make sure how to do it properly. Just push them in?

The lenses are probably sealed with a rubber type seal. Try to take a heat gun to heat/loosen up the rubber and push the tabs in with a small flat-head. Do it in sections because by the time you get to the last tab the rubber will have cooled down by then, and you don't want to rush and risk breaking something. I have also heard of some people baking them in an oven for around 10min at a low temp. Hope this helps.

Good idea. If you do you have to do the same process in reverse to put them back on...and not all the time do they seal up properly. If yours look a bit hazy or dirty, try giving them a polish on the outside to give it a bit of shine. Wet sanding, then polishing about 3 times works great. I did it to the 89+ tails I bought that were all scratched up and now they look bramd new.

BTW, nice to see another Canadian. Im from "Mani-snow-ba". It's about -24oC with the windchill right now. LOL

After getting my Euro turns from germany I totally destroyed my old ds turn signal lens trying to do the same thing. The glue holds that the lens in is very strong and the lens might leak after. The reason is the plastic housing around the corners is very flexible and breakable. I definitely would not risk ruining euro turns because you could clean them without taking it off.

I have no knowledge or experience with wetsanding. What kind of polish do you use? Ontario here :D .It shows -10.5oC right now, but about -20oC with the wind chill.

Just head to the local parts place and pick up McGuires lens polish, and a buffing wheel for a drill. It'll make your lenses look new again in no time.

Grim is very correct...as always. You can finish it off with a hand wax like zaino or use meguires gold class liquid wax. It'll give it that extra bit of shine
