so my poor little 7mge is still kicking strong, but is leaking oil and is looking kinda tired with 180,000 on the odometer.

Right now, I'm looking at my choices of either a 7mgte or a 1jzgte. of course a 2jz would be nice, but probably out of my range right now.

anyone have any advice on these two engines? which would be the best choice for the price/easiset and highest power gains for the price? i know itll be a bit harder to source parts for the jz, but is the twin t worth it?

ah, one last thing. is the 7mgte considered a short block or a long block, and whats the difference

thanks all

a longblock is an entire engine, bottom end and top end, manifolds, cams, valves, everything. take a longblock drop it in your car and you have a running car.

a shortblock is the bottom end only. no heads, no manifolds, just crank pistons rods, block ect. all asembled of course.
