So i was just wondering if there has been any other engine swaps then the usual 1/2jz or v8. I really like the idea of lightening up my supra and jz engines are pretty heavy and im not really a fan of v8s. Has anyone heard of or thought of an engine swap that thats light and make could make decent power?

Iirc hks did the 3s swap. Maybe not.

Could easily loose a lot of weight and creature comforts to loose weight and still have straight six power.

If you're really truly concerned about weight, an RX-7 shell is probably a better place to start. MKIII Supras are pigfat, and always will be. :)

But all that fat equates to lots of creature comforts and a nice ride. :)

Oh I fully agree, and that's why I love my MKIII. It's also the reason that I don't "worry" about weight when it comes to my Supra. If I did, I would have a different car.

I wouldnt want to get an rx7. I love the mk3s thats why i want to make it one of the top dogs. Im not really concerned with power i prefer handling. It handles good already i just want it to be better.

4AGE? 3SGTE? 2ZZ-GE? 2AZ-FE? All lighter options, but all lack one thing needed in a Supra... torque... Now with that said, you will be spending some serious coin to build them and then finding a RWD trans for all/making adapters to put a RWD trans behind all of them. The major benifit would be all the weight of the engine would be over/behind the front axle line and that = better for any motorsports.
