I am not doing a full rebuild but this is whats going on. Whats up everyone, as most of you know I did the Na-T conversion using 7MGE electronics and block /internals. I ended up cracking a piston. The engine is pulled and I am in the process of disassembly so I can have the head and block milled to the proper RA for a MHG. This engine was fully rebuilt 15k ago so everything looks like it is in pretty good shape besides the piston which is cracked through one of the ring lands. I will be reringing each piston and reusing the 5 good pistons as long as everything checks out with them. I will also be adding an adjustable rrfpr, walbro fuel pump, new fuel filter although people say you never need to change it, new top/bottom end gasket set. While the car was running I was monitoring my a/fs with an LM-1 and controlling fuel with and s-afc and using the stock turbo fpr. I believe the problem was running lean at about 4,000 rpms. The only time I got to log a WOT run to my laptop at 4,000 rpms the graph reads the the a/f was around 14.0:1 after that it richens back up and at redline it was at 10.5:1.

Here are the questions I have:
1. Have people used Clevite Perfect Circle rings? Were you happy with them?

2. What is the part number for .02 oversized Clevite rings, it doesn't say on PartsAmerica.com?

3. Is it ok to use a different brand name piston then what the other 5 are?

4. Is there anything else I am forgetting about that I should take a look at while I have the engine out of the car and apart?

1. I'm not sure about Clevite rings... I love their bearings.
2. I don't know
3. You have to use a piston that is the same weight. The brand is not so important.
4. Rod and main bearings. What fuel injectors are you running?

The engine only has 15k on it after a rebuild, the bearings don't have any signs of wear at all...but I guess since I have it apart I might as well...

I am running 440cc stock turbo injectors...

IHI-RHC7 makes a good point...weight is the big problem here, although a good machinest can always trim the heavier piston or pistons to match the weight. Your absoloute best bet would be to get the whole lower end balanced. It runs alot smoother, lasts longer, can rev higher and isn't as likely to come apart under hard driving.
