I'm getting ready to put my motor from my wrecked car into a new shell. My question is: What is the possibility of internal damage????
The accident was of the front end variety, as the drunk pregnant woman puled out in front of me while I was running about 55-60. Impact was at probably 35-40 or better with very little braking time. The motor made it through almost completely intact. The fan shroud was pushed backfar enough to cut the top of my BVSV off. The fan itself wasn't broken, just bent. It will be replaced.
I'm just wondering if the jolt could have caused internal problems. I had to take too much apart to get it out of the tight spot. The fan was covered in radiator, and I was unable to get either the fan or radiator out until it was on it's way out of the car. I never got the chance to run the motor after the wreck. I do remember turning it off after the crash, but I believe I was in shock at that time.
