Last night my brother was cruising in his 87 supra turbo when a g35 was on the left lane and asking if he wanted to race so they did the 3 honks and my brother pulled 1 car on him. The 2nd time my brother put 1/2 car on him and the 3rd time the g35 put 1/2 on my brother's supra. After the race he called me telling me there was a noise coming from the engine. There was no oil in the engine i got so mad so I think the car is F... up.
The car still pull hard so i don't know if it's better to get it fix or just get a use engine.

what was the noise and do it from memory dont try turning it on to hear it again. fill it with oil, check all of the oil lines, change oil in like 200 miles and run a magnet through and try to find shavings. wach your oil pressure to see if it gets noticably lower. find out where it all went.

rebuild it.

preferably get new rods or get them balanced get new bearings and redo the bearing clearances on hte the crank from scratch.

Yet another neglected 7m. yes beacuse of the situation, you may have a rod knock due to not only a dry start but BEING PUSHED while DRY. so you may have had heavy metal to metal contact.

to be shure put oil in the car and check if its leaking and find out why, then see with the oil in there full rev it or drive it and see if it still there. if it is still there with topped out oil, then you do possibly have the dreaded rod knock.

if not addressed soon it will grow in severness and worsen.

the best way to slow down the rodknock it baby it and add lots of oil as well as some lucas. also do not push the motor cuz its already mad. IE rod knock lol.

NOW this wont "fix" it but it will allow you to still drive around and get things done. it will also give you time prepare for a swap or rebuil, IE saving money getting parts. all that.

hope i have helped.

i could be wrong but take all action neccesary to insure that you dont blow up your motor.

theres no way to "fix" it. it must go through a rebuild, and from now own check your oil and make shure that it has sufficient oil at all times of movement.

I still don't understand why there was no oil in the engine? Is this some kind of radical new set-up?

Seriously, I'm not an expert in hydrodynamics but I read somewhere that engines tend to run better with oil in them...I mean...don't quote me...but that's what I heard...
