I'm new to the 1JZ world and was curious as to what are the options for EM? Anyone familiar with any good tuners around the DE,MD,NJ area?

thanks so much!

The most common engine management I have heard about are aftermarket ECUs from Japan [Mine's or Blitz Access ECUs] or pigybacks, such as HKS FCON.
Some people have gone custom and modified an AEM EMS for a 1JZ - how much work is involved in this might make it a burden.
The E-manage might work - I don't know.
There's always Haltek.

Emanage supposedly works.
Ultimate should work. I am working on that now.
PFC works.
AEM supposedly works with some rewiring.

Boosted-Hybrid.com is one of the best tuners in the country.
He is in PA and has worked with me for years. I wouldnt trust anyone else with my cars.
He can get PFC for you too. he is an auth'ed dealer

Oh! One more thing that I forgot about, which can be a little bit rare, but they are out there: Apexi PowerFC. The cost of one of those is more than an E-Manage Ultimate [which might be a better alternative anyways], but I think that's because the PowerFC replaces the ECU rather than supplements it.

I have a Mines ECU and a E-manage on top of that. I first had the Mines with a S-AFC then switched to the E-manage and gained like 30+ rwhp at the same boost level, I think mostly because I could tune with Inj duty cycle rather than modifying the Map sensor signal which changes the timing.

still seems like over all a ems would be the esiest and cheapest way to go, but that is just cus i think piggy backs are pointless. It seems like you start out cheap with them then by the time you get what you want it would have been easier to go with a ems. So i would def say either use a racebox or the 2jz idea.
