i put a new ct26 turbo on my car and when i test drove it and every time i floored it it maxed out the stock boost gauge and then the engine cut out and the engine light would come on for a minute. then it would boost just fine as long as the boost gauge did not max out. any idea on how i could fix this??

Welcome to the wonderful world of fuel cut. This annoyance can be remedied by either the lexus AFM/550 mod or a MAFT/MAFTPRO.
Good point, I get so used to people asking this question in terms of upgrades, I didn't think about the fact before I answered. Yes Fix your wastgate issue, something is causing it to over boost.(i.e. broken or cut line, boost controller improperly set, wastgate damaged).
Yeah, it's tough to think in terms of stock sometimes. The reason fuel cut is there to begin with is to protect against wastegate failure. I'll bet he left the hose off 
The tip off was he's using only the stock gage as a boost reference (while using a new CT26) so I assumed the car wasn't modded much.
Lol yeah....bigger turbos, injectors, AFMs, Mafts, on and on. Who needs all that crap? Just disable the wastegate and be done with it

LOL yea it happened to me first time i messed with my HKS Manual Boost controller, we thought it was set to stcok turns out it was cranked up so at 2200 RPMS I pegged at 12psi and hit fuel cut, very fun though, smoked tires too a lil.
