Okay pulled the motor out of my car. I guess its been sitting roughly a year. it still turns over. Well I got the transmission out now. And I wanted to see the cams and everything so I took off the valve covers, there was little pieces of plastic, it looks like that spark plug cover galley plastic, and i found a small LEAF!. Anyhow, i want to do a compression test now, but can i do it with the engine out, I am sure you can't so this kind of blows, because I am planning on getting a new clutch and other things.. and I don't want to find out my engine is crap.

Why did you pull the engine in the first place?

Well, when I got this car, it had no fuel tank, and the rear mkiv wheels were missing 2 lugs and the rest were torqued to 10 ft-lbs or less...

After that the rear dif leaked so I was like okay lets replace it ( got a spare one with the car ) and the rear dif came out without ease.. also the transmission bolts that bolt the rear mount were missing two bolts, the drive shaft is a manual rear with a auto front half, and the engine to transmission mounts were not there..

SO I thought to myself? is everything else put together at this quality?

So i wanted to pull everything and check it. plus the transmission was dirty with oil, so i took a power washer ( plugged everything that had a hole ) and did that. also the sensor on the trans didn't even have a bolt in it? so the car
is not to my standards, and I want this to be such a great car, but I don't like dirt.. or grease.. on it. So I been scrubbing the underneath with simple green and other degreasers, and putting a fresh coat of undercoat on it.

Also I am painting the rear end black again, and just making everything great, car has no rust AT ALL* which is great.

IJ. You are correct, I guess I could do that too. I am curious to see what year motor this is, I mean it's a '92 supra but the original motor was out, and I think it's a 89+ from the outside, but I will see as soon as the oil pan is off 5 bolts are off right now and I am still plugging away.

Good stuff. I did check and the rib's on the inside are nice and thick 89+ maybe it's even the block that came with the car, but it has heat sensor son the side like a engine shop, or junk yard put them on for warranty reasons. it also does not look like it has been rebuilt.
