I have read all the threads and gone through the tsrm and walkthroughs. Now the question:

Do you like to pull the engine out with the harness still on or leave it in the vehicle and why?

Thanks in advance

unplug it from the ecu, pull it through the firewall and lay it over the top of the engine. Piece of cake. I learned the hard way the first 7M of 3 that I've pulled.

EDIT: Matt is quicker than me apparently

1000x easier to unhook the harness from the ecu and leave attached to the engine.

My first supra which was a MKII didn't do it this way and what a pain, I have pulled probably 10 supra engine since and would do it no other way.

When you start to lift the motor out, make sure you do a check for what you forgot to disconnect ;)

So I take it if you are doing an NA-T conversion, it would be easiest to unplug it, pull it w/ the engine, and swap harness's plug by plug and then label all of them accordingly so its a piece of cake when replugging it all back in after a rebuild?

I hear the harness going over the trans (or to the trans) is usually the one that gets ya.(probably at 1am after too many mountain dews:icon_bigg )

Any other common points of "oops" to watch for?

If you're pulling the tranny at the same time, then don't worry about it. If you aren't, mine was cut by the p/o right below the egr and installed a connector. Much easier that way.

Yes, always check to any grounds still attached to the chasis right before you think you're ready to pull it out. Take lots of picures so you don't forget where something goes!

Yup tranny coming with it. Might as well check out the clutch and throw in some seals.

You bet. All the fluids are getting drained and replaced while she is down.

Once again I would like to thank everybody for their input, it is a big help and much appreciated.:wavey:
