I used Swain tech. You can talk to the head man Dan. I have my pistons tops with gold coat and the skirts pc9 i think. i also had the exhaust ports of the head and back side of the exhaust valves coated to keep out heat. Oh and the combustion chambers. that way all the areas that have heat are coated. i have enclosed some pics. I do think that coating can keep heat out of the engine components and so it goes out the exhaust ports which is why i coated the chambers. if you coat the piston why not coat the chambers too.

Swain tech website is

swaintech.com

I will try to posts some pics.

Swain tech does. They say theirs is not subject to flaking off like some coatings do. There is some good info at swaintech.com but of course it is to sell you on their coatings. they cost a little more but i do think their coatings are better than just ceramic coating. I would really like to coat my downpipe with their white lightning coating.

I should take some pictures of my pistons that I had done by HPC AFTER 70k miles.

I had the skirts done with an oil holding coating, and the tops with their piston top coating. The coating was worn 90° opposite of hte pin bores, and IIRC the piston tops still looked good.
