For everyone not familiar with my engine bay mess, please refer to post:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Engine bay cleanup is underway. The driverside of the bay is almost smooth again and ready for painting. My mechanic says the removal of the painted sound deadener is a real PITA, but he must reap what he sowed. He did a really good job in the fender wells tho. They need one more coat of sound deadener and a coat of black paint (deadener is water soluable so it needs to be coated), and they'll be done. Then he must drop the tranny/driveshaft and do the entire undercarriage (after powerwashing of course). All 8 gallons of deadener and the top paint coating should add around 50lbs to the chassis. It's worth it to me for a quiet ride (for it's occupants), that scares the shit out of the neighbors.

I remember your thread with the mechanic that sprayed that shit everywhere.

Poor bastard...he's paying for it now. Cleaning and grinding that stuff off can't be easy.

Maybe next time he'll pay a little closer attention when you tell him something.

Further progress. Tranny and driveshaft have been removed. The entire undercarriage has been power washed, 2 coats of sound deadener applied, and painted over with gloss black paint. Not only will this keep road noise down to a minimum, but it should never rust either. Once I get the vehicle to my garage I plan on stripping out the entire interior and doing the same.

Bad pics I know, but it's all I got.
