Okay!
First off,
I installed my new toyota master cylinder on Christmas day, and must have bumped something, my dash lights now don't light up.
Something to note is that it's not a stock cluster, it's probably an ebay type one, the one with the blue/green switch and dimmer control thing. I like it, but my buddy who owned the car before me, installed it and apparently broke the last one that was in there.
Any ideas on what I might have bumped? Possibly a fuse went out?
Something to add to this, which is probably related, is that my blinkers weren't flashing after this as well, but were coming on, then randomly started working a day after I finished my headgasket job. So, now they are working intermittingly, whether just blinking like a couple times, then stopping, or just not flashing but coming like they were before my headgasket job. Mostly though, they just won't work.

Now to the hood lever (or whatever you want the technical name to be, the hood release inside the cabin of the car.) issue. I went to pop my hood to check my codes yesterday, and it just kept coming out, and the cable came out of the little slot it sits in on the lever, and didn't pop the hood. Any solutions you can think of? Try taking apart the lower dash panel and investigate, or is it something around the release for the hood?

for the gauges, the wire he tapped into probably came loose or something, it happened in my 240 after i installed mine..

or it might be possible the switch gave up on life (happened to my friend after i sold the 240 to him), they're pretty cheap, replacement cost $5 for a new switch/inverter on ebay...

as for the hood release, maybe the cable snapped..

is there any tension when you pull the release?

maybe the little ball came off the handle you pull..

Thanks for the reply man.
I'll have to take a look at the wiring.
I really don't want to take apart my cluster n shit haha.

I really hope the cable didn't snap
I wouldn't be too happy.
I think there is tension, I'm pretty sure it stopped at a certain point, but I didn't tug too hard, I didn't want to break it any further.

bumpity bump bump.
Took apart the lower dash today and found two wires, a black and a white one, that weren't connected to anything, as well as a black and red wire taped together, seperate, and different lengths than those. the single black wire has a red wire connector thing on it, but no wire connected to it. I tried putting the red to the white wire and the black ones together, but didn't do anything.
My hood latch cable is pulled out about 2 inches farther than it should be and won't go any farther, I couldn't tell much from when I took it apart.

Anyone have any ideas? Especially on the blinkers? they're getting worse...
