For some odd reason my warning light in the cluster that tells me the tail lights are out comes on and off at its own will. i think it might be a ground strap loose in the trunk, but i am not too savvy with wiring. is there even a ground strap in the trunk for the tail lights? if so where do i find it? the bandit i speak of is an 89 turbo 5speed. what could this be? should i get a new tail light harness from the dealer? :1zhelp:

Could be corrosion on the ground. The ground is bolted to the chassis between the tail lights behind the center trim panel in the trunk.

Other common reasons for that damned light always staying on are: faulty lamp failure module, corrosion in the bulb sockets or on the bulb bases... it wouldn't surprise me to find that old bulbs might cause this as well. That would depend on how slim the range the LFM is watching.

I have the same problem with mine being on all the time. I'm gonna check out these points that were brought up and check if anything fixes it. I got a quote for one for my JZA70 and it was $182!!!!! PLUS SHIPPING FROM JAPAN!!!!

I posted some detailed info about this little bastard on here a while ago. As long as all the light work you may be able to simply recalibrate it... or it may need a certain jumper replace in the circuit.

The LFM is clipped on beneath the left tail lamp housing.

Oh, and comparing part numbers to ensure you have the right one for your car's equipment wouldn't hurt either.
