egr valve difference?

so..apparently, the egr valve helps emissions, but actually takes away hp?

how big of a difference does it make on a 2j tt if i have it off?

i know it isnt legal, but that doesnt really apply to me at this point ahaha

Is the engine JDM or USDM?

my brother and his boss work at an engine/body/paint shop, and they get alot of cars that dont pass smog, to pass smog, cuz they are all buddy buddy with a smog shop right down the street haha. works for me.

egr doesn't take away hp per se.. you could argue the hole drilled in the exhaust port cause excess backpressure resulting in reduced hp. but then you can also say, an extra 1/4 turn from your spark plugs raises compression and hp
