it makes the engine run a lil more efficent. less exasut gas in the system so more clean air gets in. the electrical conectors you can just unplug. you can get the block off plates at suprasport.com for about $20-30. i have them and it took about a hour to put on and cleans things up engine bay really well.

I just want one in because it was a pita to work around the egr when I was taking the intake mani. off. I/m n/a if it makes any difference.

Cunning plan..... Register your car at a buddies, friends, cousins house that lives where there is no emissions. If you live in Cali... Move out of the state.... :bigthumb:

You can register your car to my house. I only charge $100/year for maintenance fees.... :biglaugh:

some of us r just lucky and live where they dont test. have it tested first then put the plates on. keep the egr around and put it back on for the next test. a couple of hours and a 6 pack and theres one way to stay busy on the weekend!!!! :naughty:

i honestly thought u guys would actually reply with something more clever...... registering elsewhere was the obvious choice. i cant do the putting on/taking off the EGR thing since im already selling the EGR system and i am not gonna go through the trouble of putting it on and taking it off every year (too lazy for that).

also, i live in puerto rico.... check below my nick.... they offered me less for registration over here.... like $70

Around here they don't even pop the hood. They just look underneath to make sure you have a cat and stick a probed in the tailpipe to test for NOx.

I had to put mine back to pass emissions...the smog guys checked physically for the egr unit and noticed it missing.

Cheers,
