Ok, I was driving around the other day, just cruising. I stopped to fill up and I noticed smelling burnt plastic. So I opened up the hood checked in the fuse box and saw my EFI fuse was burnt up but not blown. I felt the EFI itself and was EXTREMELY HOT!!! What could be the problem???? I have an 87 Supra with a 2j Swap in, no mods just mainly stock.. Thank in advance...

ok I took the harness out, redid some wires now it doesn't heat up anymore, but I noticed that the fuel pump relay was disconnected and the fuel pump still runs.. Any ideas???? Does the 2jz ecu controls the fuel pump??? I know I didn't mess with the fuel pump wires just the EFI wires... I'm STOMPED and I know it's not really much of an issue I just want to know whether to delete the relay if the ECU is controlling it or if I should retrace my wires again... ARRRGHHHH!!!!

Thanks guys...

If your fuel pump runs with the relay removed and the key on, it looks like someone just wired in the fuel pump to an ignition switched tweleve volt source and maybe did that without a relay which I highly don't recommend....

Usually, the fuel pump does not run constantly with the key in the "On" position. When I do a swap, I usually jump the terminals on the dianogstic block to prime the fuel lines and wait until I see pressure on the AFPR, and then start the car, since the pump does not run constantly.
