I am going single soon
I will have up to 550whp

if i go module engine tunning
innovative lm-1 wide band.
Apexi neo afc. map fuel tunning but using the adjustable vtec controller for water injection instead.
Apexi avc-r. Boost controller.
3 bar denso map sensor.

But when you add these things up they are expensive and since i am going up to about 22-24 psi on drag run modes should i look into map-ecus or stand alone ecus ? I ruled out HKS because they expect top dollar and only they can tune it :flamed:

here is a good ecu i found
http://wolfems.cart.net.au/details/721258.html
this one looks verry promissing 3 bar built into it!
there is a tone of things out there like

piggy backs aka map-ecu
wolf
greddy e-man blue
Haltec
microtec
Power House Racing MAPecu

stanalones
AΣM EMS Stinger 4424
megasquirt-II
aem ems
tec3
motec

so which route should i do whats 1jz stock sensor friendly and easy to install doesnt cost extra for software locked options and can tune what i want for a good price standalone needs more perfessional tunning and installation.
piggy back pretty much anyone can tune.
the good about map ecu and standalone is some or most have logging options and could be tuned with a laptop which i have access to easy.
I am ready to buy something and i am not doing this to wate anyones time

Standalone time. Any one of those can let you reach your goals. As far as which one you need to use, it's about what options you want, and who around you can tune it (or how easy it is to use yourself).

Download some of the tuning software, and see which one seems easier for you.

The Stinger is an excellent EMS. Bigaaron has been helpful with the installation, even through my decisions were difficult, he tried to help me throughout the installation. After finally getting the ignition settings right, I am very impressed. Use stock everything, and the calibrations for the sensors are there (thanks Bigaaron) and they work. Most everything has been done for you, and he's trying to make it even easier with new harnesses and other options such as idle control valves and O2 sensor options. Tech support is there, Bigaaron even called Australia for me. If I had it to do all over again, I would repeat it with the stinger. I never installed one before, talk about a weird feeling, but I understand so much more now about how my engine works, and I'm still a nub ;)

Good luck.

stinger4 or Power FC for standalones.
I have tuned the haltech interceptor with good results as well.

With tech edge WB2.0/440cc injectors/GT3040 single turbo @ 1.3B the A/F ratio sitting at 11.0 ~ 11.5 and EGT's below 800c at the top of 4th gear.

I think quickstrike is running the wolf. Not sure which model.

The stinger doesn't "work wonders" but it's a good value for the money. Standalone is a standalone, it's just how many features you want with it. Driftmotion is working on a harness specifically for the 1J. It can't control your stock idle control valve, you need another O2 sensor and AEM's UEGO output won't work either if you have that. That's all I've found that doesn't work. PWM idle control valves off a Ford, Honda, and other cars will work, you just have to modify it to work on the 1J.

Ok I sent an email to wolf if they can reply quick and have good support i will order a display combo deal.

It seems to be better or a setup then stinger doesnt support sequential yet and also doesnt run the 4 stepper isvc yet and the wolf is new and haves a lot more flexability and diffrent modes to run on!
also comes with a display so you know whats going on!

along with the standalone i am still using the inovative LM1 wideband meter and defi boost gauge then the stand alone and im done it haves a turbo timer feature and also a lock out panel so no one could jack the car and drive it off.

i have 1 last question does the igniter is direct fire and not wast spark but the injectors are batch fire
the direct fire coils are fired and controlled by the ignitor which gets a signal from the ecu to fire each coil do you know the specs on the signal going into the ignitor like the pulse width and the voltage i just want to know for setting up the software it should be the same as the 2jz-gte since they have the same ignitor.

does the ecu drive the ignitor with a graound signal coming out of the ecu and into the ignitor or is it a positive voltage.
thanks again for your help
