The 89+ uses more of the pinouts than the pre89... on the pre89 there are several unused (or at least undocumented) pins.

I'm not sure if there is enough difference that it would keep one from working on the other. It is a distinct possibility that they both have the same pinout and the 89+ is just better documented. I wired in my MAFT Pro using an 89+ TSRM diagram (I verified all the connections before hand though).

I don't know if the plugs are the same... check that first.

According to Dr.J, the GE ECU doesn't have HAC.... any year.

Naturally, I'd like to know which is correct.

As for the plugs how different are they? In the TSRM they used the same illustration for pre and post.

The plugs are very different. Somewhere I have pinout diagrams for them both, I'll try to dig them out.

I'm completely in the dark when it comes to the GE ECUs, I've never seen one or a pinout for one.

The NA had a change. The later years have 315cc injectors (without resistor pack), while the earlier years had 295cc injectors (with resistor pack)

Forget the GTE stuff, it does not always apply to GE. I have a complete setup from a 1992 NA Supra and it has the same exact ECU plugs as a 1987 NA supra, just gray.

To make it even more confusing, the newer 7mges on the cressidas had the GTE style 89 plus pattern.

Oh hell... all this time I've been posting in an NA thread. Sorry guys - I just use the NEW POSTS feature from the menubar, sometimes I end up posting where I should be keeping my damn mouth shut.

ROFL.... I figured that was the case. No sweat.
