alright so my friend has a 1993 rx7..he asked if putting a full exhuast system will mess up the ecu because of how it will raise the boost on the car..i told him i dont know..so im asking..if we need to tune the ecu or something when putting a full exhuast system on the car..i have a 1992 toyota supra turbo..so just that question

If he has a stock ECU, then the only thing he can do is pull the efi fuse (or the rx7 equivalent) for a couple of minutes and then do about 30 minutes of driving so it can relearn flow rates.

first make sure that he has a boost gauge to keep an eye on things. I believe fuel cut is around 12psi on the rx7 and it doesn't take much to get there. He should be able to get away with just an exhaust but after that fuel and computer upgrades (either a piggy-back or full aftermarket computer) are recommended to be on the safe side. All it takes is one detonation and good bye apex seals!

Tell him good luck with the car though, I LOVE fd's I just don't have the funds to own one :(
