So my original ct26 turbo has a crack along the exhaust side on my 92 supra at 169k which is pretty good for lasting 20+ years of abuse. Now Im on the hunt for replacement ct26 and I was wondering how ebay ct26 are? Have you used them before or know someone that has? Are they reliable? Im open to everyones opiniontoyota engine evolution.jpg

Saw where someone on SF (maybe an Australian member) had tried one, but had a different housing and would not properly mount to the MKIII exhaust manifold. Seemed inexpensive enough, but designed for a different car... Just make sure you check it out 1st and make sure you get from a reliable vendor, in case you have to return it.

I'd trust an ebay turbo no further than I could throw it. Too much that can go wrong with something that needs a certain degree of precision in it's construction that can end in catastrophic failure. That and not to mention the fitment issues that come along with most. Honestly best bet is to talk to one of the forum vendors. They have quality units for a very reasonable price and if for whatever reason you have issues you have someone you can go back to and work it out with.

Pm Albert or check in his section.
This. For just a few bucks more, you get a proven turbo. Considering my time is valuable, and it's a decent hour or so to swap turbos if things cooperate... I'd stick to the proven good stuff. ;)

Just got my turbo back from Albert the other day and it's fuckin minty. Is Albert able to help him with a new exhaust housing though? If not just find a cheap ass one in the for sale section, possible one with tons of shaft play for $50, after all you would only need the housing.

Depends where it is, as cracks are normal in the exhaust housing from the heat. You can't rebuild your own turbo (well, unless you want it to very quickly die...)
