putting my engine back in today and was wondering since my tranny is still in the car would it be easyer to leave the pressure plate in the tranny like it is now and then bolt the flywheel to it when i get the egine in or take the pressureplate out and bolt it to the engine and then put the engine in.

It would probably be easier to take the pressure plate out of the transmission and then put it in as a whole unit.

I just did this on x-mas day and i put the pressure plate on the motor and aligned the clutch dish and i slid right together ,You do have to jack the tranny up a little but not a big deal.

Hate to point out the obvious, but... it will be easier to drain & disconnect the tranny, pull it out, bolt it onto the engine, and put it all back in at once.
+1 to that. sounds like more work, but in the end you will thank yourself.

it really all depends on the mood im in, some times i yank the motor with out tranny, or tranny and motor together , or i'll just drop the tranny, either way it's not hard with extentions and an air ratchet,

toyota says to bolt the engines together first then bolt the pp and flywheel together, going this allows you do have the clutch fork pined and some how saving time i belive.
