i've heard that the E3 spark plugs blow holes in the pistons of hondas, but the're great in my chevy 5.3L. Would these be ok in my stock 7M-GTE??

The Autolite 3923 plugs are ISO length...an 1/8" shorter than the plugs spec'ed for the 7M. Can cause misfire issues with plug wire arcing.

E3 PLUGS ARE GARBAGE!!!!
with that said, when I first got my Supra, I thought it would be a good idea to buy them as they seemed good, well after a few days of constant pinging, knocking, detonation, and general engine running like sh*t I pulled them out. I called the parts store and told them what was up, they said there was some for recall on them, bring em in and they'de give me new plugs. So I got myself a set of NGK's for the promo price of the E3's.

But yes they suck big time don't risk your engine.

I put E3s in my acura and guess what....my acura is now in the junk yard, because of them. I drove from miami and back on them in 3 days time and the plug litarily melted in the engine making the engine a complete lose. DO NOT PUT E3s IN YOUR CAR!!!! unless ofcourse your attepting to destroy it, then I recommend them.:icon_razz

Bkr7e's from Napa.

If you're using something else that you don't know shit about... well then that's just not smart imo.

Integra or w/e fine but 7m's will not forgive you. At least know about what you're running before you run it.

Sorry that was kinda harsh.. I'm a little worked up right now and just assumed you threw em in there.

It was more advice I wouldn't experiment w/o researching but it looks like you did.

I still wouldn't run anything other than bkr7e's but thats just me.

true, advice taken, will be purchasing them this week. ive just never heard of any problems from e3's ive only ever read of happy customers...untill now. ill look into it a bit more, theres a few friends of mine that were thinking of trying them since i had decent things to say from my integra trials. the supra ran a little smoother (but i guess i wouldve seen that from any branded new plug) i havnt noticed a good power increase like i felt with the teg

Under a damn Toyota
Horsepower on SpikeTV done a dyno test on them and did gain power and fuel economy, but I still think its all hype. One guy on a Tacoma forum Im on tried to push these saying you'll gain x amount of power and gain x amount of mpg but couldnt back it up. Ive tried them and honestly lost mpg, almost 5mpg in my Tacoma. I get 35+ mpg on the highway with OE Denso's, OEM FTW!

Horsepower TV also pushes Royal Purple for power and they also pushed the tornado IIRC...

They push whatever is paying the bills at the moment. We all know dyno numbers can be manipulated.

i can see in some cases that these plugs might be good, for certain cars with certain mods or whatever, but with the 7m it just seems like this is engine is a bitch and if you dont make her happy she will quit ya. I plan on steering clear of the e3's have heard nothing good on my end.

after searching e3 spark plug (problems or damage) and didnt read any nasty horror stories, just people saying "i know a guy that blew it up" more specifically an evo tuner that ran a similar plug, pulstars and damaged a couple motors. i read a post that actually made a lot of sense, he said that the only problems that would come from a plug like this would be that it sparked multiple times (like the pulstar) or the plug electrode would overheat to the point to act as a glow plug like in a diesel and would ignite the fuel/air before the spark...detonation is the key there. then looking into what metals are in the electrode, its def a possibility.

point being, if you plan on running these plugs, use em for light driving or long road trips. they "should" get you a gain in mileage (i read countless posts to confirm and only 1 or 2 that says no)

im going to go get the iridiums tomorrow i think, better safe than sorry, i drive mine pretty hard sometimes

First,

welcome to the forums.

This is the technical section.

If your posts start with

I have heard
I have read,
My freinds 3rd cousin, borther's girlffreind, neighbors aunt dog said....

etc

think long and hard prior to pressing the submit new thread button as there is usually no facts, which means, no place for threads like these in the tech section...

thread moved.

BCPR's are the correct length. BCPR7ES. The part number used to be 3330. I believe its 6282 now.
