First of all I want to introduce myself with the current mods I have on my 89 Toyota Supra 7MGTE, so we all can be on the same page. I purchased my supra Last August of 07' and it was BONE STOCK from an older woman. After my original turbo went out I decided to go crazy on the MODS which took over 7 months to finish with a buddy of mine, juggling back and forth with work, having a life and researching, researching and more research. The list of mods are the following:

Upgraded CT-26 60-1 (from spoolinturbo)
DDP non-rerouted(from isphius)
SAFC-2
LEXUS AFM
Apexi Air filter
Cooleeze Chrome Turbo Inlet Pipe
Cooleeze Radiator Pipe
MSD WIRES
DENSO IRIDIUM SPARK PLUGS
COMETIC HEADGASKET 1.37MM
ARP HEAD STUDS
550cc RC engineering(3rdtimearound)
SIDE-SIDE intercooler chrome look hard pipes
HKS BOV
Turbo Blanket(ebay.com)
16" Electric Fan
LIPP Intercooler Block off Plate(suprasport.com)
Custom 3" Exhaust with HIGHFLOW CAT
Titan Cam Gears
JVTR 3" core BIG A** RADIATOR(ebay.com)
BATTERY RELOCATION
Intrax Springs lowered
KYB Gr-2 Shocks (if i mispelled sorry)
AEM 2in1 TRU BOOST/GUAGE controller
31x12x4 CX RACING INTERCOOLER side-side(ebay.com)
Royal Purple 10w40
Toyota "pink" coolant ( apparently is better than Prestone?)
Stage 3 clutch 6puck (lethalinjection in Alpharetta,GA)
255 Walbor Fuel pump

Here are situations, I recently took the car to R2B2MOTORS (who specializes in supras) in Duluth,GA for tuning with the SAFC2 since it ran horribly rich. After they dyno tuned the car, it made 310WHP at 12.5lbs. The gentleman said that the car would not make any more power after 13lbs because it started to loose power afterwards due to misfiring( i think). He asked what plugs was i running in the car and I told him they were Denso iridiums with the original coils that came on the car( the car has 120,000 miles). He recommended me not to use IRIDIUMS and replace them with regular NGK coppers with the coldest heat range and replace the coil pack with a new one from Toyota. He told me the car will run better with these replacements since it will be able to produce a better spark thus handle more boost. I was ok great, on to ordering more parts.
My second situation is i took the car for emissions after it was tuned hoping it would past and it did not. It only passed one part. The people at the emissions thought i was running without a CAT since it failed horribly. I attached pictures with the results hoping someone from the forums could help me out on this. I think the CAT went bad (even though i purchased it last year in September) since I did run the car for a couple of days when it was running really rich, before i took it to the dyno. I even pulled out one of the plugs and took a picture of it to help out with the diagnose.
And lastly my DDP, everyone says that the DDP sounds awesome, but to me it sounds like a semi truck. I can hear the turbo spooling but it does not sound like the one on YOUTUBE.com(type in Divorce downpipe supra). It sounds more of a exhaust leak by the downpipe but they are no holes while others are saying that the wastegate seems to open at all times. It sounds so damn loud in first and second gear and im not even boosting. By the way in the AEM TRU BOOST CONTROLLER I looked under the programming section Wastegate SPRING it is set at 11.2, maybe this is causing it. Should i set it to 5lbs instead?

Hopefully someone hear can help me out with suggestions especially the emissions and DDP situation. Thanks alot guys and i hope to hear from everyone, especially JETJOCK!

i got pretty much the same mods and i just passed emissions by taking out a lot of fuel in the low range wioth the apexi afc neo i had it running at about 17 to 1 from 850 rpm to 3000 rpm and it passed with flying colors.(just do NOT hit boost),i did it all myself i dont know if your familier with your safc but i know someone can do it for you.goodluck.

check to see if there are any exhaust leaks by the flanges near your ddp.
clean out your egr, and the egr port in the intake manifold.
Lean out the fuel, you can pour some meth in the tank as well to help out.
Lastly, a new cat wont hurt

I would like to thank everyone in this thread for their help and support. So far the problem with noise by the DDP was the WASTEGATE was not shut all the way. It was open at all times. We took it off, tightened it up a bit so it would be close at normal conditions, while opening when it hit boosts. I can drive now at normal speeds sounding like a supra instead of SEMI TRUCK. BY THE WAY I SEE WHY PEOPLE LOVE THESE DDP!!! THEY SOUND AWESOME!!! :evil2:THE SPOOLING AND MAN WHAT A DIFFERENCE AFTER FIXING THIS SMALL PROBLEM:icon_razz:evil2:!
I also went ahead and replaced my Iridium plugs with NGK BCPR7ES STD copper plugs with a Heat range colder! I can also tell the idling changed a bit in being smoother. We also gap the plugs tighter than it came from the factory.
I am now waiting for my MSD GM 2 tower Coilpacks so that I can take it back to the DYNO for a retune.
Finally it will be taken to the Emmissions for a retest. I will also ask R2B2motors to tune my car leaner at partial throttle between 800-3500 rpms in order to pass emissions. Let's see how it goes!

Also, I was wondering on the AEM Truboost/Gauge controller, under the Wastegate Spring settings, what PSI does everyone recommend it to be set at?? When it came of the DYNO I noticed it read 11.2PSI... Any suggestions? Thanks

But the car is running rich right now which is why I was not able to pass emissions. Wouldn't they have to take away gas in order for it to pass the emissions properly? Do you have any suggestions? it would be helpful!

When you get your car tuned on a dyno on an afc they only tune hi throttle so you’re LO throttle is still rich and you will fail. you must tune the LO end, with a wide band, took me some time to get it right but, just see what you afr are at normal load around 3500rpm and get it down to say 14.7-15.3 this should be what you want your afr to look like most of the time with just normal driving. You may also need to adjust you HI & LO throttle points in the afc to prevent running lean under boost. Like 12psi @ 1/2 throttle and a 15.3 Afr.

What he is trying to say, is that you are not running rich. You are already running lean. If you were running rich you would have failed on CO, due to partially burnt fuel left over. Also your high NOx shows that your combustion is too hot, which could also be from a lean condition.

K couple things what kind of wstegate are you running? You list all the other mods but the ones you have a problem with. Also leaning out your afr's at low rpm is very bad! Dont do it. Your tuner should advise this to you as well. As far as the wastegate spring what boost levels do you plan on running?

Its a CT-26 60-1Turbo and its the waste gate that comes on the CT26. As far as boost levels just 12psi for every day and then for track 17-19PSI, thats all.

Ok I see that i was completely wrong, thats why I am here for advice. Thank you. I will be taking the car to R2B2 tomorrow for a tune and I'll just ask them to tune my LO throttle points for every day driving for GAS MPG and Pass emissions.(My tag has been expired since JANURARY):naughty:) and then regular HI Throttle points. It seems that all he did (like one of the users mentioned in this thread already) was tune the HI throttle points. We will see by tomorrow.

O ok I thought the 60-1 ct26 turbo upgrade was not a good idea? You still ran with that type of modification?
