Here was my 50 trim:

Highest number was at 20psi, lowest was at 14psi. Had a exhaust leak at the manifold :(

550's, maft was draw through, elbow and exhaust, forged pistons, spearco style ic, pump gas.

You really don't have to go 60-1 or bigger to make good power, the torque was almost 400ft/lbs at 3700rpm.

that was tuned or un tuned? the reason i ask, is because i want to run a 57 trim at 10 pounds and am wondering if it would be safe like that. my fuel system should be good, 550s/lexAFM, walbro fuel pump and aeromotive FPR.

We were tuning it on the dyno with the afc, which is why the numbers were going up with each pull. I never realized the full potential of that setup because there was an exhaust leak and there was a stock flange bolted to the 3" high flow elbow and welded to the 3" exhaust like a restrictor plate :( That dyno sheet was March of 05. I'm pretty sure my hp numbers are higher now. The 50 trim seemed to be a good comprimise between quick spool, torque and hp output. The 57 trim would probably be able to make more power but give you better reliability then the 60-1 or 62-1. That 50 trim was still working great after two years at the power level on my dyno sheet.

i was thinking a 50 trim would be a waste of time, but that dyno sheet looks nice and around the power output i am looking for. probably will still go with the 57 to try to get closer to 350-400 hp while still keeping the boost low.

at any rate good luck with the car.

here is mine at 14psi.

notes: the oscillating line is because i was having trouble w/ my boost controller holding steady boost and no smoothing turned on.

also, my car is an auto.

max horsepower at 3200? something looks wrong with that dyno sheet.

Also, it would seems that a 50trim would cause an efficiency fall off after 20psi

Yes, and? :biglaugh:

If you want to run more then 20psi you probably should not be running a ct26 anyways. Making the cold side bigger does not take away the restriction from the hot side that is the turbo itself. Get a bigger turbo and make the same power at 14psi as the ct26 does at 20+psi, and then you eliminate some of the inherent problems that come with running so much boost.

you talkin about mine? if so thats torque, not hp. also note the hp/tq are scaled different which causes the torque to look odd compared to the hp.

bigaaron - I'm really glad to see your results with the 50trim upgrade. That is exactly the mark I am shooting for.

268 HP / 299 Torque

After the dyno I found out I have a bad igniter, threw a code 14 :(. I think that is what caused the jaggedness.
