Dumb Vacuum/boost line Question...

Hey guys -

I purchased a 88 MKIII, and had to reassemble the head, and figure out where all the vac lines and electrical harnesses went. Thought I had it all figured out, as the vehicle starts and runs fine, idles perfectly, and cruises with no issues. However, when i get into boost, it does not want to hold pressure. I am going to be doing a boost leak check, but I started thinking about how my vac/boost lines are currently run. I looked up a few images about line routing, and it appears as if my wastegate actuator is improperly connected. Where is the proper place for this to connect? I would have thought right to the compressor housing, but the housing bung is not tapped. The hose was rather long coming off the actuator, so it is currently connected to the 'rats-nest' distribution bar on the underside of the intake. However, It appears as if I have the line connected to where the FP VSV is supposed to be connected.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

But, as stated, my CT26 housing is not even tapped at the bung location where I would expect the actuator to connect. See image below. Were there any other alternatives?

I would pull the turbo/ compressor housing and tap the bung 1/8" npt. IIRC the boost source should comr from before the throttle body.

The best idea is to tap the comp housing like Toyota did from the factory. Not sure why yours is not tapped though.

Here is a image of the 'non-tapped' bung on the CT26 housing.

However, right next to this bung is a 1/4" barbed fitting that is currently connected to the PS Vacuum Valve... don't know if that is correct...

Thats the nipple for the wastegate.

Ps idle up valve vacuum lines go from accordion hose to valve to the metal lines that runs across the front of the motor.
