I dropped the gas a few years ago cause the bracket metal lines that held the fuel pump rusted a small hole in it an was leaking gas but I had a extra guy to help hold up the tank when we were raising an lowering it.

now I wanna drop it again, but its just me,, any tips on how tpo drop it an bolt it back up for a one guy jobber ?

I'm sure its going to be difficult with just one guy....

A jack, sure did the job for me. Set it under the gas tank when your ready to lower it, and put it under it when your ready to hire it. Get under the gas tank when your jacking it up, just to make sure the filler neck goes in right, and make sure the straps are on straight. Hope I helped.

Its not really that heavy, I drop and put my own gas tank up all the time, just bench press it down and when putting it back up bench press it up and use your knees to hold it in place to put the straps on... good luck, aight peace :chicken:

yes, what bert said^ works great. holding it with your knees is super easy. just make sure there's less than 5gal of gas in there. when it sloshes around it's tough to hold on to.

After removing the access cover in the hatch and unplugging the two wiring harnesses, I just popped the drain plug and let all the gas out into a cooler (too much gas for my drain pan) then used the convienient spigot on the bottom of the cooler to drain into a gas can. After the fumes went away it was simple. Use some penetrating oil to get the main fuel line off first and then remove filler neck holder thingy inside the fuel door, it's held in by 4 phillips screws and then you can use a flat blade screwdriver to pop it out. I'm fat so no way my knees was holding my tank up, and it was still hella easy with a jack to support it while unbolting the straps and to let it down, but it's easier (for me) to just bench press up as it's trickier getting the tank back up as more precision is involved so the jack gets in the way...
