SoCal,
My R154 started to leak and dump quite a bit of fluid so I figured I would change out the driveshaft seal today. I pulled the driveshaft out, and I'm tried to remove the seal from the transmission, but it's stuck and is only coming out in small pieces. Is there a particular method to remove the seal? I tried to use a small flat tip to pry the seal, and then tried needle nosed pliers, but the seal just refuses to budge. What I did manage to do is just have a few chunks of it come off. Now before I potentially damage something, I just want to ask how everyone got their input shaft seal out. Did you have to use a seal removal tool? Thanks!

i use a thick pick that use use for water hose's

but i bet ya could use a nail and a hammer if your tools are that limted and just drive the nail under the seal

SoCal,
Thanks for the reply. I'll see if I can use a thick toothpick or a nail to help the seal out. Trying to finish this job before the next storm arrives!
